A LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN

Updated: Apr 17, 2021

Can I show you a peek? Right now seemed as good a time as any for a little behind-the-scenes. Here is a glimpse into where I spend my day. And I am excited to tell you why:

I was previously a stay home mum 👱🏻‍♀️to my two boys and I found that having a son with special needs made it really difficult to hold a regular 9-5 job. I needed something that paid well, worked with my hours allowing me to 🚕 get them to their clinic appointments, all day hospital stays 🏨 and the million appointments and therapies. Let’s not forget school and sports! 🎾

I needed to create that job, the magic opportunity wasn’t just out there waiting for me. 🧞‍♀️From that need came a solution and started my own business, two actually and I adore them both.

What gets me really excited is this corner of my house. It doesn’t take much and it's not a huge space but it’s MINE and I’ve set it up exactly as I want it. From here I am able to be creative, host parties, work for hours, go for a run in the middle of the day, help clients remotely, host team meetings of up to 500, listen to the music as loudly as I want to or even work in my underwear should I choose. And it’s ORGANIZED. (oh yeah, baby)

Being my own boss has its challenges and staying focused is one of them.

Here are some tips to stay on point:

✅ Wake up early and have a morning routine, 5:30 am is my usual. From there I run/walk, stretch and meditate before my kids get up.

✅ Visualize how you want the day to go and block what you are going to do with the day in half hour increments. This is written in my paper journal (yes, the digital girl keeps both paper and an iCal).

✅ Set intentions for the day. This allows me to be clear and focused. It’s measurable and not only that when it’s in my calendar and if I ever get audited, my at home business will be 100% legitimate.

✅ Notice the power of your thoughts. If you say, “I am easily distracted.” you will continue to be so. Change your story. Speak differently because what you say to yourself is what you believe. Repeat “I am effective with my time and I enjoy doing the hard stuff first.”
